Conflicts of Interest
As a Chartered Financial Planner, my duty is to act honestly, fairly, and in the best interests of every client. This includes identifying and managing any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may arise during the course of providing financial advice.
Our approach
We take conflicts of interest seriously.
A conflict may occur when our interests, or the interests of another client or third party, could be seen to influence the advice or service you receive.
Our approach is to:
- identify possible conflicts before they affect you
- manage or eliminate conflicts wherever possible
- disclose any unavoidable conflicts in a clear and timely way
- ensure our clients are always treated fairly
Types of conflicts that may arise
Examples of potential conflicts include:
- situations where our interests differ from your interests
- instances where we receive benefits or incentives from product providers
- circumstances where acting for one client could disadvantage another
- relationships with third parties that might appear to influence our advice
We have internal processes in place to prevent these situations from affecting the quality or impartiality of our work.
How we manage conflicts
Measures we may use to manage conflicts include:
- declining to act where a conflict cannot be properly managed
- separating certain duties within our business
- keeping detailed records of any identified conflicts
- ensuring remuneration structures do not influence recommendations
- providing full transparency so you can make informed decisions
Where a conflict cannot be avoided, we will explain the situation to you clearly before proceeding.
Your confidence matters
Our goal is to ensure that you can trust the advice you receive.
If you have any concerns about conflicts of interest or would like more information about the steps we take to manage them, please contact us.
